BATASANG PAMBANSA COMPLEX

The 16-Hectare Batasang Pambansa Complex after its completion in 1978—just in time for the convention of Interim Batasang Pambansa which was held on 12 June 1978—coinciding with the 80 years of independence of the Philippines from Spain.

Renowned Architect Felipe Mendoza was commissioned by former President Marcos to design the sophisticated complex after the designs of Architect Federico Ilustre and Anselmo Alquinto were scrapped and discontinued owing to lacking public predilection and financial constraint years back.

Since 1978, State of the Nation addresses from President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos to the current president, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who has since delivered in this complex.
