For me, traveling is another form of rest and recreation. Most of the time, I travel northbound because southbound is very notorious when we speak of traffic inconveniences.
About stopovers, I prefer native restaurants compared with the usual fastfood restaurants to complete the experience when traveling.
In Cabatuan, Isabela, you can find Kuya Raymond’s Kambingan Restaurant which is probably one of the best kambingan houses along (N51) Santiago-Tuguegarao Rd in Province of Isabela. They offer and serve food at a reasonable price. Here you can experience extremely native Ilocano dishes like papaitan, ata-ata, embaligtad, kilawin, etc.
A restaurant like this is very popular among Ilocano travelers like me to experience native and authentic delicacies. The place is naturally ventilated but its facilities are of the average yet I was satisfied. Still looking forward to visiting the place again. Cabatuan municipality is 400 kms or so from Manila or about an hour before Tuguegarao City.
This is a highly recommendable native restaurant for all commuters, visitors, and travelers frequenting Isabela or going north of Luzon.
