Dela Cruz flew through the air while his rookie teammate John Patrick Pagtalunan immediately recovered, got off and completed the lightning team race.

The nineteen-year-old Talavera native, pedaling an Elves-sponsored bike, is now in good condition and sustains a leg injury and scars after colliding head-on with an errant and intractable jeepney driver.
